Dr. Nick G. Governale
Dr. Governale was born and raised in Morgan City Louisiana, as number five of eight children in a close Italian Catholic family. He attended Nicholls State University in Thibodaux Louisiana then LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans for his dental degree. He is a United States Air Force Veteran, completing a general practice residency during Desert Storm at Barksdale Air Force Base. In the Air Force he served in North Dakota for two years performing most of the impacted teeth surgeries with intravenous sedation. After the military, he settled in Natchitoches Louisiana where he has been practicing since 1994. As a life long learner he completed the American Association of Implant Dentistry’s MaxiCourse at Georgia Regents University in Atlanta Georgia and has acquired an Affiliate Associate Fellow status. As a result Dr. Governale was the first dentist to bring dental implants to Natchitoches. After living in Shreveport for seven years he decided to extend his practice there.
He holds memberships in the American Dental Association (ADA) and Louisiana Dental Association (LDA) and is licensed in both Louisiana and Texas. Dr Governale is also a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Governale and his family are parishoners of St. John Berchmans Cathedral Parish. In his spare time he enjoys reading, working out, spending time with his wife Elizabeth, fishing, golf and LSU football.

Lexi
Reception / Financial Coordinator
I was born and raised in Lufkin Texas and recently moved to Louisiana to start a new chapter in my life. I am currently finishing my Business degree at NSU and plan to continue on with my educational path. In my free time you’ll find me outdoors or spending time with family and friends as well as participating in church activities. I have recently started my own photography business and enjoy learning more everyday.
Moving to Louisiana and finding Governale General Dentistry has been a blessing. My colleagues here are caring people who help me through everyday decisions, in choosing the right direction, and just looking out for me. I am so fortunate to have such great people in my life in and out of work.

Caryn
Registered Dental Hygienist
I was born in New York moved with my family at age five to Pennsylvania at age five where I was raised as the youngest of four children. I married my high school sweetheart after being together for 12 years and living in multiple states together including Florida and North Carolina. While living in those states, I worked in Business Development for an engineering company and Director of a Fine Arts Gallery for a non-profit school and home for abused, abandoned and neglected children in the mountains of North Carolina. Upon the birth of our first child, we found our way back to PA to raise our daughter close to family and lifelong friends. A few years later, we added to our family with the birth of our son, making a beautiful and busy family of four. I decided to go back to school to be a Dental Hygienist and graduated in 2015 from Luzerne County Community College. After building my career in clinical hygiene, I became an Adjunct Faculty Member teaching Clinical Dental Hygiene at the same school where I graduated. Part of my passion with dental hygiene is volunteering through Volunteers in Medicine and Mission of Mercy, allowing my abilities to impact the lives of so many in need. I am a big proponent of education with oral health and as such, likes to ensure patients get the most value out of their home care instruction and hygiene experience. My family and I relocated to Louisiana in 2022 where we now reside with our three dogs. In addition to working here with the gracious staff of Governale General Dentistry, I also work as a traveling hygienist to nursing home residents, providing compassion and care to such an underserved population. When not working, we can be found supporting our children in many events and activities, such as dance, baseball, basketball, golf, and whatever else they may find to explore and experience. I enjoy mission work with church, yoga, camping, massages, traveling, hanging out with friends, and downtime (aka, naps). From the moment you meet me, I hope you realize the empowering commitment and passion I have to oral health.
